Musical Mondays ~ This is the Stuff

(As seen on Facebook, plus two I previously forgot:)

1. We leave early for open gym(nastics) to give Matthew a chance, he doesn't want to participate.
2. I go to the Verizon store to hook up the replacement phone and get a text from one of Doug's friends. Verizon hooked my phone up with Doug's #.
3. Verizon says they need me on the phone to switch it back, but not on either one of our #s.
4. I go back to the gym for McKenna's class and now she doesn't want to participate.
5. So back to the Verizon store (you all can imagine how much I love traipsing around Newburgh) and they switch our numbers, but they can't hook Doug's back up. I bring him home a new sim card.

6. Matthew dropped his iTouch in the yard of Milo's breeders so we had to turn around and go back to find it.
7. I get home and fine 3 pages of extra homework for Matthew. yay.
8. We're playing with Milo in the kitchen and he just hauls off and pees on the floor right in front of us. (?!)
9. Working on the replacement phone and
(a) most of my contacts' phone #s are gone.
(b) my replacement phone (lower half, keyboard) isn't working!
(c) my brand-new case broke.
You can tell I've been working on my temper bc so far I've held it together pretty well... and I'm thankful for what went WELL today! (Doug did all the laundry, kitchen is spotless, my car didn't break down lol, well behaved minis all day and very little bedtime resistance...)
*sigh. I wish I liked wine.

Good thing I'm taken care of.

Musical Mondays ~ Arms Wide Open

I've gotten the most hits on this blog on an old post titled 'Live your life with arms wide open...' I'm guessing people are looking for a place to fall? I've been intentionally living with my arms wide open, leaning and falling into the arms of Christ for at least 5 years. Before that, I was as living just as well (He has always, always been there), I just wasn't quite as aware.

So in honor of that post and this one, please enjoy

p.s. I really like 'Arms Wide Open' by Creed, but that's just not where I'm at right now!

Scripture Sunday ~ Deuteronomy, 1 Peter, Genesis, Psalms (multiplied blessings)

I'm posting this on Tuesday night of a very, very good week so far. :)

12 “And because you listen to these rules and keep and do them, the LORD your God will keep with you the covenant and the steadfast love that he swore to your fathers. 13 He will love you, bless you, and multiply you. He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your wine and your oil, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock, in the land that he swore to your fathers to give you. 14 You shall be blessed above all peoples.
Deuteronomy 7:12-14a

2 May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
1 Peter 1:2 ESV

 17That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
Genesis 22:17

No! I am not pregnant! I am talking about blessings. I am seeing blessings of all sorts multiplied all around me as a direct result of believing and living the truth of Gospel. It's truly awesome.

11 For the LORD God is our sun and our shield.
He gives us grace and glory.
The LORD will withhold no good thing
from those who do what is right.
Psalm 84:11 NLT

Creative Thursday ~ Green Eggs & Ham - the follow up {2012 page 5}

You might have read my previous blog post on our little green eggs & ham experience in early January. Well, the shock has worn off, I laugh when retelling the story, and I am ready to scrapbook it.

There have been a very few times that I have felt completely vulnerable while scrapbooking. The first time was a page I made about our tiny Matthew's first time-out and how I was learning and determining a lifetime route with discipline. The second was a full-disclosure photo of a smiling McKenna in her leg braces at just a few months old; it's not easy to admit you have a child who isn't perfect by the world's standards.

This would be another one of those times. Yes, I chose this battle. No, I don't regret it. I do hope it will make us both better people in the end.

Yes, I realize that this layout is completely erratic and chaotic. I was hoping it would be! It's pretty much how I felt inside, however it might have appeared that I had it all under control in the house that morning.

I just loved the background for a Dr. Seuss-themed layout. I also played with the charcoal filter in PhotoShop for a fun feel to the main pic. The file folder under the large photo holds the journaling I copied and printed out from my blog. It was 2 1/2'' x 2 pages long!

Help! I don't know who designed the background page. I either cut off and lost the tab or it didn't have one. If you know who owns it, please let me know!
